Scholarships

In addition to the close community and strong pastoral care focus of Danebank, the school has a very strong academic environment. Students from our school have achieved "First in the State" 5 times since 1990 in a variety of subjects. In 2007 93% of graduating students received University offers. 4 Premier’s Awards were received by students in Year 12 2007 (90 or over in all subjects), and over 40% of students achieved a UAI of 90 or over.

Particular attention is paid to developing gifted students so they can achieve their specific potential.

In keeping with our community focus and desire to encourage scholarship in students with special ability, Danebank offers a number of scholarships each year.

The scholarships usually offered are:

  • Full and Half academic scholarships for entry into year 5, 7 and 11;
  • A half Old Girls scholarship for the daughter of a former Danebank students entering Year 7; and
  • A Music scholarship for a student entering Year 7, 8 or 9.

A Life Skills Scholarship is also offered for students with special needs who enter our Life Skills Program. Separate application information regarding this scholarship can be received by contacting Mrs Louise Hambridge, Director of Finance and Enrolments.

Scholarships cover tuition fees for the length of the student's attendance at the school and so offer a significant opportunity for students with special abilities to benefit from the caring and challenging environment provided by Danebank. Scholarships will only be awarded to Australian residents.

Scholarship Applications are available online towards the beginning of each year. They conclude when the Scholarship examinations take place, usually in early May.
