Last week, what has traditionally been a highlight for our Year 5 girls the annual Year 5 camp was on!  A special time for all the girls to escape the classroom, learn new skills and make new friends.

Despite the inclement weather, the girls were able to into the 'great outdoors' and they all participated enthusiastically in a range of activities including canoeing, rope climbing, navigation, canoe drills, tubes and noodles, mini Olympics and other initiative and team-work focused activities.

The Youthworks team also delivered the Christian Education program that involved singing, drama, a Bible talk and a short Bible Study.

Our camps are also designed to incorporate a social skills element where children help each other, share meals and live and work together in community, developing learning dispositions such as resilience, risk-taking, leadership, courage, self-confidence, collaboration, creativity, humor, initiative and independence.

Our girls were praised by all the leaders, on their exemplary behavior, enthusiasm and their willingness to learn and embrace the development opportunities.

The teachers and support staff always come back from camp exhausted, but say that the camp experience is a wonderful opportunity for the girls to shine in ways that they would not usually see in the classroom.

We would like to thank our wonderful staff Mrs Cooper, Mrs Uebel, Mrs Hatem, Miss Webster and Miss Petith for their amazing dedication. Heading to camp with their students is a true demonstration of care, commitment and dedication to our girls. Thank you.
