Service to Others
One of Danebank’s greatest strengths is the school motto, Ut Prosim, which means ‘That I May Serve’.
Our girls are encouraged to think about their place in the world and to form their personal response to the Christian message. They are encouraged to develop fine personal attributes such as integrity and compassion, to develop their Faithful hearts.
Danebank believes that each girl’s humanity is enriched when she awakens her ‘heart of service’. We aim to make service a practical reality. Our girls are encouraged to serve the needs of others and this includes service to each other and service to the wider world, through deeds which reflect generosity, consideration and compassion.
SERVICE
Our girls offer assistance to those less fortunate in the wider world. The girls organise various fund raisers, such as mufti days, in support of worthwhile causes as well as collections of goods, e.g. cans of food for Anglicare’s winter appeal.
Over the past year, Junior School has run events, activities and promotions in support of the following causes:
- Anglicare (Food, blankets and funds raised)
- Church Mission Society
- Bible Society
- Bush Church Aid
- Cambodian Foster Child (through PLAN)
- Katoke Lweru School, Tanzania (Scholarships for African Childrens’ Education)
- Samaritan’s Purse childrens’ Christmas appeal (Operation Christmas Child)
