As we come to the end of the very busy first term of 2021, we have so much to reflect on and be thankful for, starting with the celebration of Easter as we remember how Christ gave his life in love to reconcile us with our God and Creator. May I encourage you to take the time this weekend to rest and reflect on this wonderful Gift.

We started the year with the launch of Danebank’s Our Future Envisioned document, which is the result of the numerous group and individual consultations and two comprehensive, independent surveys conducted in 2020. This document lays out the direction for our community as we consider and plan for our future.

Some parents have also attended the Conversations with Dr Burgess presentations where we not only discuss these findings, but also share other feedback parents may give or

opportunities for improvements as they may raise.

While I plan one more of these feedback events in Term 2, I am also looking forward to launching a series of information presentations on educational, social and societal topics, presented by specialists in these fields. Details of these will follow in due course.

We are thankful to have had a term during which all our excursions, clubs and co-curricular activities have returned. It is joyful to hear our girls singing during assembly, chapel and class again.

It was also a joy to welcome parents back on campus for meetings with teachers, and to present our first on-campus discovery tours in a year.

In March, at our 88th Founder’s Day celebration, it was our honour to recognise alumna Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer, for her work in and service to the NSW community through the Covid pandemic. Dr Chant continued to live our motto of Ut Prosim upon leaving Danebank in 1980 as School Captain and Dux. We enjoyed hosting her on campus as she engaged with students and staff.

As we prepare for Term 2, I want to thank all our girls, our families and our staff for their dedication and loyalty to our school and our community this term. I wish you a restful and peaceful holiday and a safe return from any travels.
